This month’s speaker is Bud Bennett who will be talking about the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

HazCom- The beginning and the intent of the program or who is Doctor Who? What is it we’re supposed to do? And why are there so few people doing it? How did this get so skewed. Or… how to make a ton of money on gizmos. Rumblings of standardization because “where are the crayons”? Advent of the GHS or, yea we knew all along the way it is, wasn’t so.  GHS thank you, OK now what?

Bud’s extensive safety experience includes: 20 years in the US Marines, Officer in Charge of Camp Pendleton Hazardous Materials Response Unit (active duty), Resource Manager of largest environmental remediation contract in the nation (at the time), Contract Consultant to Marine Corps Base Kaneohe, HI (2 years Oahu), Contract Consultant to Alaska Army National Guard (5 year HAZWOPER training project several thousand soldiers trained), Officer in the Alaska State Defense Force (State Guard), 12 years all volunteer Commissioned to develop an Arctic Operations Team at the 3d Battalion 49th RDE Brigade, Safety Officer for Osborne Construction (Ft Wainwright, Eielson AFB, JBER), Safety Officer for Nordic-Calista rigs Prudhoe Bay, and Safety Officer and Construction Manager for projects for NAVFAC in the PNW.
