Presentation Description: Integrating safety, regulatory compliance and crisis management.
Relevance to members: How do you get buy-in from senior management when you have many hats to wear? Some ideas that work at CALAMCO.
Martin Jeppeson Bio: Martin is the director of regulatory affairs for the California Ammonia Company (CALAMCO), Stockton, California. He oversees the company safety, health and environmental programs, regulatory compliance programs, and facility security concerns. He provides technical assistance in all these areas in house as well as to the company customer base as needed. He has over thirty years’ experience in the safety arena. Before joining CALAMCO he was the safety manager for Erickson, Inc., in Richmond, California, and prior to that spent twenty-four years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, Special Forces.
He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Albuquerque, a Master of Political Science from Auburn University, and an MBA from the University of California, Davis. He is also certified as an emergency response technician.
He has been a member of ASSE since 1992, and has held several positions at the Chapter level, including programs chair, vice president, president elect, two terms as president, served as chapter delegate and is currently a member of the ASSE Board of Directors. He is an active Board member with the Central California Safety Council, the Ammonia Safety and Training Institute, the Sacramento Chapter of InfraGard, as well as a graduate of the FBI Citizen’s Academy and Sacramento Metro Fire Community Emergency Response Team training.

Our Chapter meetings are normally the third Wednesday of the month from September through June.
Morning meetings are held at Best Western Executive Inn in Seattle. The address is 200 Taylor Avenue N, Seattle, Washington, 98109. Registration at 7:15 AM, and continental breakfast at 7:30. Presentation starts promptly at 8:00, ending at 9 AM.

Evening meetings are held at Angelo’s Restaurant in Burien. Registration & social hour with a no-host bar from 5-6:00 PM, Dinner is served at 6:00, presentation starts promptly at 7:00 ending by 8 PM.
