Presentation Title:  Safety and Health Challenges in a Railroad Maintenance Facility

Description:  The Interbay Locomotive Maintenance and Inspection Terminal provides repairs, inspections, scheduled maintenance, and fueling for BNSF locomotives. The tour will provide a close up view of procedures and equipment at various locations throughout the facility. This is your opportunity to see underneath and inside a 200 ton locomotive and to catch a glimpse of railroad operations usually restricted to the public.

In this talk you will: Learn about some of the unique challenges related to safety and health in this environment, and recognize that many of us share the same concerns in our respective enterprises.

Relevance to ASSE members:  You will likely see examples of fall protection systems, point of source ventilation for welders, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, RTK systems, and many other safety and health related activities.


About Speaker:
  Dennis Bullock has worked in the crafts, as a supervisor, as Manger of Safety and most recently as Manager of Industrial Hygiene over the past 33 years on the BNSF.

Our Chapter meetings are normally the third Wednesday of the month from September through June.

Morning meetings are held at Best Western Executive Inn in Seattle. The address is 200 Taylor Avenue N, Seattle, Washington, 98109. Registration at 7:15 AM, and continental breakfast at 7:30. Presentation starts promptly at 8:00, ending at 9 AM.
